Flat Surfaces & Supports
The Flashforge Creator 5 Pro, like all FDM/FFF printers requires a flat surface on the model to use as the base, otherwise a great amount of support material will be required. This means that if possible, all overhangs should have a chamfer underneath them to minimize the need for supports.
The Flashforge Creator 5 Pro has great multi-material switching and has a the ability to print PVA (Water-Soluble Supports) which can greatly increase the precision and speed of complex models.
Materials
The Flashforge Creator 5 pro can print PLA, PETG, TPU 95A, TPU-64D, PLA-CF, PETG-CF, SILK, PVA, ABS, ASA, PA-CF, PET-CF, ASA-GF, ABS-GF, HIPS and some others. For material availability ask a technician or list your preference in your ticket and a technician will get back to you with the availability.
Multi-Material
The Flashforge Creator 5 Pro has 4 extruder heads that can switch materials without any purge waste. The most common use of the material switching would be for multi-color prints. It can also be used to specify sections of a part with a specific material.
Costing
The cost for PLA will be $0.02 a gram of filament used and includes the support material used in the print. Minimizing the need for supports will make the overall cost lower. For other materials' costing information, contact a technician.
Color Specification
To specify colors for a multi-color print include detailed information regarding color changes and refer to the Multi-File & Multi-Material Projects article before submitting a ticket.
