The Flashforge AD5X is a multi-color high-speed printer capable of printing a variety of materials including PLA, PETG, TPU, and others. For specific material availability (Especially for exotic filaments) contact a technician via email or office hours.
Build Size
The Flashforge AD5X's build volume is 220*220*220mm. for prints that exceed the cost threshold an approval will be required before a technician is able to start the print.
Flat Surfaces & Supports
The Flashforge AD5X, like all FDM/FFF printers requires a flat surface on the model to use as the base, otherwise a great amount of support material will be required. Complex geometries and shapes will also require extra material in the form of supports. These printers are also capable of printing some un-supported overhangs up to 45degrees. This means that if possible, all overhangs should have a chamfer underneath them to minimize the need for supports.
PLA Costing
The cost for PLA will be $0.02 a gram of filament used and includes the support material used in the print. Minimizing the need for supports will make the overall cost lower. For other materials' costing information, contact a technician.
Color Specification
To specify colors for a multi-color print include detailed information regarding color changes and refer to the Multi-File & Multi-Material Projects article before submitting a ticket.
