1) Press fit
A press fit is when no slop is desired in a hole and peg joint system. Some geometries can often cause an interference fit (parts will not fit together).
Our printers require .01 inches of clearance total for press fit.
2) Clearance fit
A clearance fit is when slight slop is desired in a hole and peg joint, often used for rotating objects. Some geometries can cause a press fit.
Our printers require .02 inches of clearance total for clearance fit.
3) Large clearance fit
Similar to clearance fit, large clearance fit is used when a large slop is desired, often used for holes that will have threaded rods or other irregular objects in them.
Our printers require .03 inches of clearance total for large clearance fit.
